Little Bird Airways is excited to provide tail wheel endorsements in our PA-12, Piper Super Cruiser. The cost of the airplane $180/hour and $75/hour for the instructor. Expect a minimum of 6 hours to receive the endorsement as well as one hour of ground school. However, the average pilot needs 15-25 hours of instruction to develop the skills needed to obtain the endorsement.
Little Bird Airways welcomes students from Canada and other countries!
In many cases, flight training in the U.S. is much less expensive than in other countries.
If you would like to train for a Private Pilot License or other certificate with us and are not a U.S. citizen, you must first obtain a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) clearance to do so. This process usually takes about 2 months.
To start the process, visit: https://www.flightschoolcandidates.gov/. This is TSA's Alien Flight Student Program.
Please call us first so that we can coordinate. After your training request is approved by the TSA, you have 1 year to complete the training. If you have not finished your training by then, you must repeat the TSA application process.
We understand that foreign students may be traveling from long distances. We try to maximize your training sessions to get the most flight time in during your stay.
All of the Little Bird Airways' Airplanes are owned by the company. We do not enter into lease back agreements with other owners. As such, the maintenance, condition, and airworthiness of our aircraft are at the top of our minds, every day, every flight.
You will never see a half a million dollar airplane in our fleet. Offering such an aircraft only serves in inflate the cost of flight training. You do not need to learn to fly in a glass cockpit. Steam gauges are great for learning and transitioning to a glass cockpit afterward is not difficult. Most of our clients who become pilots, don't buy half a million dollar airplanes. They buy affordable airplanes with steam gauges and a GPS.
Some flight schools charge a monthly fee or an enrollment fee to train with them. Be aware of this wallet-draining tactic. At Little Bird Airways, you pay as you go. No extra charges, no nonsense.
